Thank You Public Works Crew! Snow Event Wrap Up

Our region saw more than 3 inches of snow over the weekend of January 19. Snowfall, plus the threat of freezing rain, had our Public Works team on high alert. Here's a quick recap of their hard work.

  • 50 crew members were called in for 16-, 12- and 8-hour shifts.
  • They worked a total of 748 hours over the long weekend.
  • Boone County had 43 salt trucks and snow plows treating County roadways.
  • Crews treated 9,016 miles of county roads.
  • 1,500 TONS of salt was applied before, during and after the snowfall.
