Boone County Animal Care & Control Hosts Paw Pals Volunteers

Boone County Animal Services is excited to again host the annual Paw Pals teen volunteer program! This summer we are thrilled to again be host some of Northern Kentucky’s most conscientious, service-minded teens as volunteers. Our teen volunteers perform a number of important tasks around the shelter. They spend time preparing summertime treats for the shelter dogs like “pupsicles” and making toys to entertain our kittens that are looking for a new home. Paw Pals help us keep up with mountains of laundry---blankets and beds that we use to make our shelter dogs feel as comfortable as possible during their stay. They also assist with general tasks like putting away donations, greeting visitors to the shelter, and much more! Summer is the busiest time of year here at the animal shelter, and we couldn’t get everything finished each day without the help of our awesome Paw Pals.

Our Paw Pals program runs from June 1-August 31st of each year. We begin taking applications in mid-April, and our participants must be 13-17 years old. If you or someone you know may be interested in being a Paw Pal, be sure to tell them to keep an eye on our webpage in the early spring.
