On April 26, 2022, at 4pm, the Boone County Fiscal Court will hold a ceremony at the Burlington Commons plaza to mark the relocation of the Vietnam Veterans Memorial that was previously located at Boone Woods Park. The light gray granite memorial lists the Boone Countians that were killed in service to the United States Military in Vietnam.

The memorial was originally dedicated in 1986 in a ceremony placing the memorial near the Veterans Way and Burlington Pike (KY 18) intersection. During the expansion of Veterans Way in 2020, the memorial was placed in storage and scheduled to be relocated to the Burlington Commons plaza near the County Administration building, where a brick and limestone platform was built to hold the 4 x 2 granite memorial.

The relocated memorial will be placed in the northwest corner of the Burlington Commons for visitors to pay their respects.
The Fiscal Court would like to invite any interested parties to attend the ceremony, especially members of the Vietnam Veterans community.
