Public Hearing Notice

To all interested citizens of Boone County, Kentucky:                                                                

The Kentucky Department for Local Government is accepting application material under the 2021 Community Development Block Grant (CDBG) Program.  The Boone County Fiscal Court intends to apply for funding for operating support for the Recovery Kentucky Center located in Richwood.

The County will hold a public hearing prior to submission of the CDBG application.  This public hearing will be held at 11:00 am, Friday, October 1, 2021, in the first floor Fiscal Court meeting room, Boone County Administration Building, 2950 Washington Street, Burlington, Kentucky.   The purpose of this hearing is to obtain views on housing and community development needs, review proposed activities, review the proposed application, and solicit public comments. Technical assistance is available to help groups representing low and moderate income persons in developing proposals.

The following information concerning the CDBG program is now available for public inspection during regular business hours at the Office of Judge/Executive, 2nd Floor, Boone County Administration Building, 2950 Washington Street, Burlington, Kentucky.  

  1. Amount of funds available and range of activities that may be undertaken.
  2. Estimated amounts of funds proposed to be used for activities benefiting persons of low an moderate income.
  3. Plans for minimizing displacement of persons as a result of activities associated with CDBG funds and plans for providing assistance to those persons to be actually displaced as a result of CDBG-funded activities.
  4. Records regarding the past use of CDBG funds.
  5. A summary of other important program requirements.

 Comments on Application

A copy of the application is now available for public review during normal office hours at the Office of the Judge/Executive, 2nd floor, Boone County Administration Building, 2950 Washington Street, Burlington, Kentucky.

Comments on the proposed application may be submitted until 11:00 am, October 1, 2021 to the attention of Matthew Webster, Assistant County Administrator, 2nd Floor, Boone County Administration Building, 2950 Washington Street, Burlington, Kentucky.
