Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event

ACCEPTED ITEMS: NOT ACCEPTED:
  • Aerosol cans
  • Antifreeze
  • Batteries (all types)
  • Corrosives/flammables (fuel, kerosene, etc.)
  • Electronics (computers, monitors, keyboards, cell phones, etc.)
  • Ink/Toner cartridges
  • Light bulbs
  • Oil
  • Paint (limit of TEN cans per vehicle)
  • Pesticides (limit of 2 gal. liquid or 2 lbs. solid)
  • Propane tanks (20 lbs. only)
  • CRTs/TVs (limit of TWO per vehicle)
  • Appliances (please contact your County Solid Waste Coordinator for disposal)
  • Fertilizers
  • Mercury-containing devices
  • Medications or prescription pills
  • Tires 
  • Paper to be shredded

Spring Cleanup
June 19th - June 20th

FREE disposal of furniture, mattresses, trash, debris, yard waste, appliances (freon OK), batteries, electronics (limit of ONE TV), propane tanks (20lbs ONLY), scrap metal, and tires (EIGHT per vehicle).

We cannot accept paint, liquids, hazardous waste, dirt, concrete, rocks, gas cylinders with valve intact, or propane tanks that are not 20lbs at this event.

You must be a Campbell County resident to participate - no businesses or commercial interests. You are required to unload your own vehicle with no County assistance due to COVID-19 guidelines.

Waste Tire Event
October 16th - October 17th
8:00am - 5:00pm

Accepted tires (rims are OK): truck/light, truck, passenger, farm implement, ATV, tractor, lawn, bicycle, motorcycle, and golf cart tires.

Not accepted: foam-filled, calcium-filled, over-the-road tires, solid tires with or without press on rim, tires with bead great than 1.75", tracks, or sheet rubber tires.

Please call for arrangements if you have over 2,000 tires. Tire retailers, scrap/salvage yards, and recycle facilities are prohibited from participating.

This event is sponsored and paid for by the Kentucky Division of Waste Management and only comes to our county every three years.

Kenton County

Spring Cleanup - CANCELLED

Fall Cleanup

October 1st - October 3rd

FREE disposal of appliances (Freon OK), furniture, yard debris, household trash, scrap metal, electronics (anything with a power cord, one TV per vehicle), motor and rechargeable batteries, 20lbs propane grill tank, oil, antifreeze, tires (eight per vehicle, additional tires are $3/each), and recyclables (plastic bottles/jugs, glass bottles/jars, metal cans, cardboard).

We cannot accept hazardous materials, pesticides, paint/stains, liquid waste, fire extinguishers, tanks/cylinders, fluorescent bulbs, shingles, concrete, brick, dirt, boats, or junk vehicles.


Cleanups are intended for Kenton County residents only. Please bring proof of residency (driver's license with current address or your current trash bill). No businesses, including side junk/construction debris removal businesses are permitted. To prevent litter, please cover open loads with a tarp and strap down loose items. **Kenton County Public Works has the right to refuse any and all items transported to Public Works for disposal. You are required to unload your own vehicle with no County assistance due to COVID-19 guidelines.
