Boone County Welcomes Chris Courtney
The Boone County Fiscal Court is pleased to welcome Chris Courtney to the Judge/Executive's staff. Chris will serve as the Small Business Support and Community Relations Coordinator for Boone County.
Chris will be charged with identifying opportunities to improve processes, identify systemic barriers to business development and to assist small business owners navigate the various requirements associated with creating and operating a business in the county. He will serve as a small business ombudsperson that can speak with business owners, connect them to the most appropriate resources and help ensure that any barrier to success is removed. In addition, Chris will work to resolve constituent issues, be a liaison with community groups and will work to enhance communications with Boone County citizens.
Mr. Courtney joins the Judge/Executive's office from Gateway Community and Technical College where he served as the Retention and Placement Strategist for the Gateway VETS program. In that role he was charged with working with vererans' services. Prior to joining Gateway, Chris gained experience as a Job Placement Specialist with NESCO Employment Services and served in the US Navy as a Sonar Technician, Second Class Petty Officer.

Chris began his service to Boone County on May 9.
