Boone County Dispatch Now Offers Smart911

The Boone County Public Safety Communication Center has developed the capability for citizens to register information that may be critical to effectively responding to their emergencies. Smart911 is a software that allows the public to enter details tied to their phone number that assists dispatchers in alerting first responders when a 911 call comes in to the Center.

Over 80%
of calls made to 9-1-1 come from mobile phones. When you dial 9-1-1 from a mobile phone, the 9-1-1 call takers have very little information to help you – only your phone number and a very general sense of your location.

This is a serious problem in an emergency when seconds count, particularly if you or your loved ones have medical conditions, there is information that responders could use to more effectly respond to emergencies or when you are unable to safely speak.

This is an opt-in service and you provide as much information YOU choose to share. Click the link below to learn more and to register with Smart911!
