On Tuesday, April 17, 2018 at approximately 10:00 a.m. the Boone County Sheriff’s Office was notified of a motorcycle fatality accident in the 3,900 block of Hathaway Road (KY-536) in Union, Kentucky when a home owner there saw the motorcycle down an embankment from his driveway.
Some thirty (30) yards off the roadway deputies located the deceased remains of the rider who apparently failed to negotiate a curve on Hathaway Road and went over the embankment. The motorcycle, a 2000 Yamaha, the homeowner saw from his driveway was another twenty (20) yards past the rider who is identified as Andrew Duell, 42 of the 6,100 block of Rabbit Hash Road in Union, Kentucky.
Coincidentally, Duell’s father reported him missing yesterday as he hadn’t heard from him recently. While it’s difficult to speculate the exact date/time of death, Boone County Coroner Missy Rittenger estimated the accident to have occurred sometime in the neighborhood of Friday, April 13th.
