On Monday, June 19, 2017 at approximately 1:10 a.m. a lone gunman held up the United Dairy Farmers store located at 8577 Dixie Highway near Florence, Kentucky. Within hours detectives posted images from the UDF surveillance system on the Boone County Sheriff’s social media sites and were rewarded with tips as to the identity of the bandit.
Investigators executed a search warrant on the suspect’s apartment in Florence, Kentucky on June 22, 2017 which yielded additional evidence indicating his involvement and so on June 26, 2017 an arrest warrant was issued for Andrew Burchett, 27 of the Trellises Apartment Complex in Florence, Kentucky for *Robbery 1st degree.
On July 2, 2017 detectives learned Burchett was holed up at the Magnuson Hotel located at 8050 Holiday Place in Florence, Kentucky. There they were able to talk him out of the room where they served the arrest warrant on him without incident. Burchett is lodged in the Boone County Detention Center in lieu of a $100,000 cash bond.
