Waste Tire Collection Program

The Waste Tire Collection Program is part of Kentucky's Energy and Environment Cabinet's (EEC) effort to eliminate tires in our natural landscape. This program has been around since 1998 and cycles through the counties every three years.

During this event, Boone County residents can drop off their tires at no cost - similar to our Spring and Fall Cleanups. The EEC then recycles the recovered tires to be made into crumb rubber or tire-derived fuel. To learn more about this program, click here.
