What is "hazardous waste"?
Hazardous waste: (noun) waste with properties that make it dangerous or capable of having a harmful effect on human health or the environment.
This can include:
- Used oil/gasoline
- Antifreeze and other auto fluids
- Light bulbs
- Cylinders and tanks
- Pesticides and fertilizers
- Needles and other sharps
How do I recycle my hazardous waste?
The Northern Kentucky Solid Waste Management Area hosts the Household Hazardous Waste Collection Event each year, typically the first Saturday in November. You can bring most hazardous items to this event for free disposal. The vendors that we use accept hazardous waste year-round and can be contacted below.
