On Thursday, February 11, 2010 at approximately 1:05 p.m. a registered sex offender was arrested after investigators learned he was violating his terms of the sex offender registration by distributing child pornography.
Detective Tracy Watson charged Donald Sawyer, 56 of the 100 block of Melinda Lane near Florence, Kentucky with Failure to comply with the sex offender registration, Using a minor to distribute obscene material, and Persistent felony offender 2nd degree.
Sawyer filed as a registered sex offender after a 2000 conviction for Sodomy. He is being held in the Boone County Detention Center in lieu of a $10,000 bond.
