On Wednesday, January 06, 2010 at approximately 7:40 a.m. a passerby reported an African–American man lying on the side of eastbound I–275 at the 12.3 mile marker with no shirt on.
First responders located the man deceased apparently from head trauma dressed only in shorts and socks. His general description is a heavy set African–American of medium height in his late 20’s or early 30’s with short black hair and a closely trimmed mustache and goatee.
Investigators are treating the death as a homicide and are asking anyone with information as to the man’s identity and how he ended up on the side of I–275 one mile away from the Petersburg, Kentucky exit to call either Crime Stoppers at (513) 352-3040 or the Boone County Sheriff’s Department at (859) 334-2175.
Updated information as of January 7, 2010:
The deceased has been identified as Brian Jones, 29 of Cincinnati, Ohio. Jones died of a single gunshot to his head. Boone County Sheriff’s investigators are working with Cincinnati, Ohio Police investigators in an effort to backtrack Jones’ final activities.
