On Sunday, December 13, 2009 a Union, Kentucky woman unknowingly solved a number of recent thefts from vehicles and burglaries when she found suspected stolen merchandise in her juvenile daughter’s bedroom and notified authorities.
Sheriff’s deputies initially were able to identify stolen property from one home burglary. The 17 year old teenager was charged with Burglary 2nd degree, Receiving stolen property, Possession of marijuana, and Possession of drug paraphernalia. Additionally, her boyfriend, Michael Lepper, 19 of Verona, Kentucky was charged with Burglary 2nd degree and Unlawful transaction with a minor 1st degree. The girl is being held in the Campbell County Regional Juvenile Detention Center. Lepper is lodged in the Boone County Detention Center in lieu of a $5,000 bond.
Investigators are confident they will be able to solve several more burglaries and at least a dozen car break-ins after sorting through the property.
