On Friday, October 9, 2009 at approximately 7:40 p.m. a Glencoe, Kentucky man was shot while visiting friends at the Woodspring Apartment complex located at 550 Mount Zion Road near Florence, Kentucky.

Three friends, two visitors & one occupant, were together in an apartment in building 11 when the shooting victim (name withheld) answered a knock at the door.  A struggle ensued between him and a man at the door. The suspect apparently shot the one who answered the door. The two remaining in the apartment fled out the patio door.

The victim was transported to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio with reported non life–threatening injuries.  Sheriff’s investigators and Crime Scene Technician are currently investigating the incident.

Updated information:
After interviewing the victim in the shooting at Mt. Zion apartment complex detectives have provided a description of the suspect.

He is described as a white male, late teens to early twenties, 5’10”, heavyset, ear length dark greasy hair, some facial acne, an unknown tattoo on his upper right arm wearing a light blue sleeveless t–shirt, long baggy shorts and brandishing a dark handgun.  A red pickup truck was seen leaving the area immediately after the shooting.

Updated information as of 10/15/2009:
On Thursday, October 15, 2009 at approximately 10:00 a.m. investigators arrested a Hebron, Kentucky man for the shooting.

Detective Bruce McVay charged Daryl Robbins Jr., 30 of Hebron, Kentucky with one count of Assault 1st degree and two counts of Wanton endangerment 1st degree.  Robbins is being held in the Boone County Detention Center.  No bond has been set yet.

McVay diligently followed up on leads throughout the last week until finally identifying Robbins as a person of interest.  Robbins admitted to his involvement.
