BOONE SEEKS CITIZEN CORPS VOLUNTEERS
BURLINGTON, KENTUCKY (September 15, 2009) – Eight years after the terrorist attacks of 9/11 people are still asking how to be ready for any emergency and how they can help the community.
The Boone County Citizen Corps Council is conducting an orientation meeting for those interested in learning more about volunteer opportunities in support of homeland security.
Boone County Citizen Corps works to teach the public about emergency preparedness and recruits volunteers willing to make the community better prepared for emergencies and disasters.
The Boone County Citizen Corps orientation meeting is scheduled for Tuesday September 22nd at 7:00 pm in Community Room C of the Florence Government Center at 8100 Ewing Blvd. in Florence.
Attendees will receive information on Citizen Corps programs including: Volunteers in Police Service, Neighborhood Watch, Community Emergency Response Team, Medical Reserve Corps and Fire Corps. There are a wide range of opportunities for people to make a difference in volunteer service with Citizen Corps.
