On Wednesday, August 12, 2009 at approximately 9:00 p.m. a teenage pedestrian was struck by a car as he was crossing at the intersection of U.S.–42 and Mount Zion Road (KY-536) in Union, Kentucky.
The 17 year old teen (name withheld) was transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital (Florence) with reported life threatening injuries after he was struck crossing U.S.–42 from Mt. Zion. Jason Chisholm, 18 of Florence, Kentucky was driving a 2004 Dodge 4 door passenger car south on U.S.–42 in the curb lane when he collided with the pedestrian.
The Boone County Sheriff’s Department Accident Reconstruction Team is investigating the collision. As of this writing there are no preliminary indicators.
Updated information – The pedestrian, Glennis Christophel, 18 of Anderson Township, Ohio, succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead at the hospital. His next of kin have been notified. The collision is still under investigation by the Accident Reconstruction Team.
