On Friday, July 31, 2009 at approximately 11:10 a.m. a single vehicle collision on Richwood Road (KY338) in Richwood, Kentucky sent the driver of a tanker truck to the hospital via Air Care and shut down the road for nearly 3 hours.
Travis Hoberg, 32 of Warsaw, Ohio was driving a 3 axle tanker truck owned by Don Cameron Oil & Gas out of Zanesville, Ohio loaded with brine east on Richwood Road in the 700 block when he started off the right side of the road. He steered left (thus overcorrecting) causing the truck to flip over. Hoberg was taken to University Hospital in Cincinnati, Ohio via Air Care. His injuries were originally thought to be life–threatening.
One of the saddle fuel tanks was punctured during the accident so it had to be siphoned into a container before the truck could be up righted and the road reopened.
