On Thursday, May 28, 2009 at approximately 1:50 p.m. a head–on traffic collision on Burlington Pike (KY–18) in Belleview, Kentucky sent all four occupants of the two cars to area hospitals; two of them via Air Care.
Kyle Wood, 18 of Belleview, Kentucky was eastbound on Burlington Pike near the Dinsmore Homestead driving a 1996 Honda Civic when he crossed the center line and ran head on into a 2004 Toyota Camry travelling westbound driven by Casandra Urwin, 36 of Belleview, Kentucky. Two passengers in the Camry were Dolores Kenton, 59 of Belleview and Noah Kenton, 3 of Hebron, Kentucky.
Kyle Wood and Dolores Kenton were both flown to University Hospital with reported non life–threatening injuries. Casandra Urwin and Noah Kenton were transported to Saint Elizabeth Hospital (Florence). Noah was secured in a car seat and the other three were wearing their seat belts. Air bags on both cars deployed. Initial indicators are that Wood fell asleep at the wheel.
