The Boone County Sheriff’s Department is investigating a series of car break–ins from over the holiday weekend and is asking for anyone with information to contact us at (859) 334–2175 or the Crime Stoppers at (513) 352–3040.
Eight (8) residents in the Lassing Green subdivision in Union experienced their vehicles broken into Saturday (5/23) night and another five (5) residents in the Thornwilde neighborhood in Hebron on Monday (5/25) night. Besides those, there were similar, albeit, scattered reports in Burlington, Hebron and near Florence.
Most of the vehicles had been left unlocked with valuables laying out in plain sight. Wallets, purses, mp–3 players, gps units, compact discs, and loose change account for most of the property taken. With that in mind, Sheriff Michael A. Helmig would like to remind people to lock their vehicles and remove valuables from sight.
