Our goal is to supply Boone County agencies with simply the best mechanical service and repairs 7 days a week 24 hours a day. Our primary service is as a function of government, but we do offer a auto fluid recycling program to the public.
We offer complete service and repairs for all makes and models of vehicles used in Boone County government, not to mention the various mowers, weed eaters and chain saws operated by county agencies. We service vehicles for other outside agencies as well, including the Hebron Fire Protection District, Burlington Fire Protection District, and Union Fire Department. On occasion we will do work for the Department of Corrections, FBI and ATF Departments, Grant County Sheriff Department and Northern Kentucky University.
Our staff consists of a Fleet Services Supervisor, a Shop Foreman, two Repair Technicians, one Heavy Duty Truck Technician, one Inventory Control Technician, and a Part Time Vehicle / Parts Delivery Person. Of the six full-time employees, three hold ASE Certifications in brake repair, suspension and wheel alignment and five are certified in air conditioning and heating systems. All Fleet Services employees attend various seminars throughout the year on ABS brake systems, truck air brake systems and suspension systems. Our hours of operation are Monday thru Friday 6:30am to 5:30pm and Saturday 6:30am to 12:00noon. We have a fully stocked service truck and we offer 24 hour road service repairs such as tire repair/replacement and hose and belt replacement. During snow removal events and emergencies, the garage staff work split sessions, working two man crews, twelve hour shifts each. This is done 24 hours a day or until the emergency is over. Working this way allows our mechanics a chance to rest and to have a fresh crew rotate every twelve hours or as needed.
Through the Solid Waste Recycling Program we are here for all of Boone County by offering recycling for waste motor oil and antifreeze. Through these programs we can heat our garage with the used waste oil and after going through a 2-step filtering process we use the anti freeze in our vehicles and equipment. This saves the tax payers hundreds of dollars each year and it makes our recycling efforts a success. Our shop also recycles used car batteries and auto tires in an effort to be more environmentally sound.
