Shelter Reservations begin the first working day in March.

We reserve shelters from April through October and the cost is $40 (non–refundable) for the entire day.  The restrooms are closed the first few weeks in April in case there is a frost that can burst the plumbing.  We recommend that you visit the shelter you are planning to reserve before you make your reservations to be sure that it will suit your needs.  Remember, these shelters are outdoors and there are times when there will be insects flying around (bees, mosquitoes, ants, etc).

To reserve a shelter please call Boone County Parks at 859–334–2117 between 8 am – 5 pm.  You cannot reserve a shelter on–line or through e–mail.

Please be advised that we do not accept reservations for weddings.  The only park facility suitable for weddings is at the Florence Nature Center, managed by the City of Florence: 859–647–5416.

Shelter reservations must be paid within 10 days of making the reservation.  Payment can be made by check, money order, cash or credit card.  There will be a due date on the letter sent with your invoice.  If not paid by the due date, your reservation will be cancelled.  We will not contact you before cancelling.  Reservations made within 10 days of the reserved date must be paid at the time of the reservation.  Go to http://www.boonecountyky.org/parks/Policies.aspx?PolicyID=7 to see the shelter policies.
