Lots of Folks Showed Love for Boone County at the 2011 River Sweep!

We had over 250 volunteers who worked to remove 7.37 tons of garbage from the Ohio riverbanks. The day started out with rain and remained gloomy most of the day. We found all kinds of crazy things on the riverbank! But most of it was just trash! Our volunteers and donors rule!

These awesome people made this cleanup possible: Chris and Janis Soper at Boone’s Landing, Ed Ward in Petersburg, Jim and Jeanne Sheridan and everyone with the Friends of Rabbit Hash, Tracy at Trixie’s Marina, Remke’s Market, Brad Schwenke and David Whitehouse with Boone County Parks, Mark Ihrig and Carl Biery with the American Red Cross, Dale Appel with Boone County Water Rescue, Rae Green and Jana Kemp with Toyota, Jenny Trapp with Duke (East Bend) and of course, Greg Sketch and all of our hard workers at Boone County Public Works.
