Love Boone County–Volunteer for the Ohio River Sweep
What are you doing June 16? Washing your car? Running errands?
How about … Improving your community and taking part in a regional environmental movement?
The 2007 Ohio River Sweep is Saturday, June 16, from 8:00 a.m. until noon. Volunteers are invited to help cleanup the Ohio riverbank in Boone County and create a cleaner community for all of us.
There are four locations this year in Boone County, KY: Lower River Road at the Rabbit Hash General Store, Petersburg Boat Dock, Split Rock Conservation Park (Petersburg), and Big Bone Boat Dock (Union).
T–shirts, trash bags, gloves, and drinks will be provided. We will also provide a deliciously free lunch and handsome t–shirts to all volunteers!
The Ohio River Sweep is an annual cleanup program organized by the Ohio River Valley Water Sanitation Commission, an interstate water pollution agency for the Ohio River Valley. Saturday’s cleanup will involve volunteers from all along the river who will donate their time to improve their communities and our region.
Show your pride in our county and our river–volunteer by calling Mary Shinkle at 859–334–3151 or email at mshinkle@boonecountyky.org.
