"The Adventures of Electronics Recycling"

Electronics recycling is when electronic equipment such as televisions, computers, and telephones are reused, repaired, or recycled. Some electronic products contain hazardous or toxic material. For this reason, it is very important to handle these products carefully. The Environmental Protection Agency prefers refurbishing first which involves fixing and reselling or donating. If that isn’t possible, they want the working parts reused or resold. Lastly, if there are no working parts, they want the raw materials such as plastics, metal, and glass sorted and recycled. Plastics are separated by types then sent to a recycling plant to be shredded and reused.
