Each first prize winner will receive a laptop computer courtesy of Apex Technology Solutions, Inc. Each second prize winner receives a $200.00 check and each third prize winner gets a $100.00 check. Cash prizes are courtesy of Bavarian Waste Services and a private donor. All of the winners will be recognized by Boone County Judge–Executive Gary Moore and given their prizes at the Fiscal Court Meeting on May 12. The meeting will be videotaped and air on public–access television and DVD copies of the event will be available to all who want them. Winning essays will soon be featured in their entirety on Boone County?s website at www.boonecountyky.org/bcswm.
The Eco-Topic Essay Contest invited all Boone County Students, Kindergarten through twelfth grade, to craft essays that focus on the future of recycling.
We would like to sincerely thank the Boone County Board of Education and the Walton-Verona Board of Education and all school principals, teachers, and parents for making this contest so awesome! Thanks also to our outstanding panel of judges – Your work was very difficult! Special thanks go to all of the students who wrote essays – Keep writing and keep recycling!
