Division of Solid Waste Management
Mary Frances Dickey,
Solid Waste Coordinator
Solid Waste?
We are the Division of Public Works that handles recycling, garbage, litter, and illegal dumping. We organize roadside litter cleanups, community cleanups (such as Great American Cleanup and River Sweep), prosecute people who dump their garbage illegally, educate folks about environmental issues, help residents dispose of wastes properly and tell little kids how to recycle. We also host several citizen involvement programs such as our Pride Posse, Litterbug Spotters and Trash for Cash roadside cleanups.
