Litter Bugs Boone County Kids

Congratulations to the winners of the 2005-06

?Does Litter Bug You?? Calendar Contest!!

The judging is now complete and as usual, it was very tough to decide the winners. The contest, which was open to all elementary schools in Boone County, focuses on the youngest members of our community and the unique creativity that they can bring to chronic problems such as litter. We received over 130 entries from Collins Elementary, Florence Elementary, New Haven Elementary, and Walton-Verona Elementary. We want to send a big THANK YOU to Superintendent Blavatt, Superintendent Boyle, and all of the teachers who participated. You rule!

For the contest, students were given a choice of prompts and entries from each grade were chosen as winners. Winners will have their artwork featured in a 2006 calendar that will be distributed throughout Boone County as well as being recognized at the evening Fiscal Court meeting on December 20 and being featured on a public-access television show. Plus, they get award certificates, goodie bags and gift cards!

Also, due to the overwhelming number of imaginative entries we received this year, we have awarded runner-up prizes! Runner-up winners will be given goodie bags and have their artwork featured on posters hung throughout Boone County.

We have to say thank you to every student who

entered the contest?all of the entries were AMAZING!
