Judge-Executive Gary W. Moore
In 1998, Gary Moore was elected Judge–Executive for Boone County Kentucky, the highest elected office in county government. Boone County is the fourth largest and one of the fastest growing counties in the Commonwealth. Judge Moore’s election parallels a distinguished career in private business and public service.
Judge Moore grew up in Pendleton County, where his father served as Sheriff. Years of watching his father enforce the law and serve the needs of the county citizens instilled in him a belief in public service and community involvement.
Judge Moore is the current President of NARC, the National Association of Regional Councils, Second Vice–President of the Kentucky County Judge/Executives Association, and Chair–elect of Tri–Ed, the Tri–County Economic Development Corporation, a resource for business development and job creation throughout Northern Kentucky. Judge Moore is also the Subcommittee Chair of the Transit Subcommittee; Transportation Steering Committee at NACO, the National Association of Counties, and Chair of the Local Streets and Roads Committee for KBT, Kentuckians for Better Transportation. He is past President of the OKI Regional Council of Governments which serves the MPO for the eight county Greater Cincinnati region. He is a Trustee of St. Elizabeth Healthcare, a board member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Northern Kentucky University Foundation, the Greater Cincinnati YMCA and the Dan Beard Council of Boy Scouts. He has served as President of the Kentucky Jaycees and on the Board of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and has provided leadership and service to many community groups including Florence Rotary Club, Catholic Charities and Leadership Kentucky.
