Judge-Executive Gary W. Moore
In 1998, Gary Moore was elected Judge–Executive for Boone County, the highest elected office in county government. Boone County is the fourth largest and one of the fastest growing counties in the Commonwealth of Kentucky. Judge Moore's election parallels a distinguished career in private business and public service.
Judge Moore grew up in Pendleton County, where his father served as Sheriff. Years of watching his father enforce the law and serve the needs of the county citizens instilled in him a belief in public service and community involvement.
Judge Moore currently serves on the executive committee for the Tri–County Economic Development Corporation, a resource for business development throughout Northern Kentucky. He also serves on the executive committee of the Kentucky County Judge/Executive Association. He was elected as a board member of the National Association of Regional Councils and is past President of the OKI Regional Council of Governments which serves the eight county Greater Cincinnati region. Judge Moore is a board member of the Northern Kentucky Chamber of Commerce, Northern Kentucky University Foundation, St. Elizabeth Healthcare Board and the Dan Beard Council of Boy Scouts. He has served as President of the Kentucky Jaycees and on the Board of the Kentucky Chamber of Commerce and has provided leadership and service to many community groups including Catholic Social Services and Leadership Kentucky.
Gary's wife, Joy, a former special education teacher and a graduate of Chase College of Law. Today, Gary and Joy live in unincorporated Boone County. They have two adult children and three grandchildren.
