SENIOR PLUS PROGRAM
The Department has been allocated funding by the Mental Health/Mental Retardation/Aging Tax Board to provide emergency assistance with rent, utilities, medical equipment, and medical transportation to its senior citizens (age 60 and older). This emergency assistance program is designed to help seniors who have limited financial resources and meet the Federal Poverty Income Guidelines. The maximum amount of financial assistance that can be provided to each senior citizen is three-hundred dollars ($300) within a fiscal year if the funds are available. This program has income and asset guidelines which must be met by Boone County Senior citizens in order to qualify for services.
