Calendar contest Begins!
The ?Quit the Littering!? Coloring Calendar Contest is a program that asks the youngest members of our community to use their imagination to tackle the problem of litter in our community. Each entrant creates a coloring page after examining the effects of garbage on the ground of their neighborhood. Thirteen drawings from elementary students across Boone County are then chosen to be in a calendar that distributed to all a participating schools and handed out all around town. Runners-up will have portions of their artwork featured on posters that advertise the program. Also, if they want, students may come up with a catchy anti-litter slogan and twelve of those will be chosen to be incorporated into the calendar.
