The only materials that may be burnt are paper, clean and untreated wood, and leaves, however, there are restrictions on burning even on these during the State-imposed Burn Ban, which lasts from May 1 to September 30.

Disposal by burning is illegal in Boone County. In situations like the one above where residents have pushed over a structure and set it on fire, Boone County Solid Waste immediately investigates, halts the burning, and takes enforcement procedures to get the area properly cleaned.
