Boone County Leads the Way
Once again, Boone County is leading the way with the first Livestock Retrieval Program in the state of Kentucky. This program is design to help diminish the potential hazard loose livestock poses to the general public
How does it work? The owner's name will correspond with a numbered location on a map. When a call is received, an animal control officer will respond with the proper equipment to contain the animals. Any registered owner in the area, with animals matching the description, will be notified. The animal control officer will remain on the scene and will assist the owner in containing the animals.
How does it benefit you? This program will help keep our community safe. It lowers the potential liability to our local farmers and livestock owners. Finally, we can aid in the recovery of your livestock.
What's the catch? There's no catch. Under the current program, animal control personnel spend countless hours on the phone dialing residents at random hoping to locate an owner. That's were the program benefits us.
How do you register? By providing the department of animal care & control with the following information, you will automatically become registered. The program is free to all Boone County residents.
